Terms of use
Terms for using EstateRoo, a guide to real estate agents, buyers agents, conveyancers, inspectors and mortgage brokers in Australia. It gives no legal, financial or credit advice.
What these terms cover
These terms cover your use of EstateRoo (estateroo.com), a free guide to real estate agents, buyers agents, conveyancers, building and pest inspectors and mortgage brokers in Australia. By using the site you accept them.
Not advice and not a valuation
The lists help you find and compare businesses. They are not legal, financial, credit, tax or investment advice, and they are not a valuation, a market appraisal or a building inspection of any property. They do not tell you what to pay, how much to borrow, whether to buy or sell, or whether a contract or a loan suits you, and they do not replace a conveyancer or solicitor reading your contract.
We are not one of the listed businesses
EstateRoo does not sell, buy or manage property, inspect buildings, arrange or approve loans, hold deposits, run auctions, arrange settlements, book appointments or charge users. It does not guarantee the licence, fees, availability or results of any business. Any agreement is between you and the business you engage.
How the lists are made
From public information about each business, such as its standing with clients, what it says about its services, its contact details and hours, and the criteria set out in “How we select”. A business on a Top plan sits in a highlighted position and a business on a Pro plan has a fuller profile. Both carry a label, and neither plan is a check of the business or an endorsement by us.
Check before you engage anyone
We review the lists from time to time, but phone numbers, hours, fees and licences change. Confirm them with the business, confirm an agent's or conveyancer's licence with the regulator in your state or territory, and look up a mortgage broker on the ASIC professional registers.
Listings and the business area
Anyone who claims a listing confirms that they may manage it, that the business holds the licences or authorisations its work requires, and that what they publish is accurate and not misleading. Each business is responsible for its own wording, including how it describes its fees and results, under the Australian Consumer Law and the rules that govern its work, from state agent and conveyancing laws to consumer credit law for brokers. We may edit or remove content that is inaccurate or misleading. The terms of each plan are shown in the business area.
What you must not do
Use the site for anything unlawful, copy its lists with automated tools, try to reach restricted areas, pretend to be another person or business, or give false details.
Ownership of the content
The texts, the selection criteria, the order of each list, the name and the design of EstateRoo belong to its owner or are used with permission. You may link to the site and quote it with a credit. Copying a substantial part needs our permission.
Liability, law and changes
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, EstateRoo is not responsible for what the listed businesses say or do, or for the content of other websites. These terms are governed by Australian law. We may change them, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
