What personal information EstateRoo handles, why, which providers help run the site and how to ask for access, a correction or make a complaint.
Who is responsible
The owner of EstateRoo (estateroo.com) decides how your personal information is used and can be reached at info@estateroo.com. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, as they apply to us. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect and why
From visitors, the IP address, browser and pages opened, only to keep the site secure and working.
From people who write to us, the message and anything in it, so we can reply.
From business accounts, the sign-in email and the details of the business, so the listing and any plan can be managed.
Please do not send us contracts of sale, building reports, identity documents, payslips, bank statements or loan papers. We do not need them and will delete them if they arrive.
No ads and no tracking cookies
EstateRoo shows no ads and sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies. The only cookies are those the site strictly needs, such as the one that keeps a business owner signed in.
Service providers
Cloudflare hosts and protects the site, counts visits without cookies and handles our email. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, and not a bot, is filling in our forms. Stripe charges the plans that businesses buy and processes the card details itself, so they never reach us. These providers are based in the United States, so some information may be handled outside Australia. We use them because they apply security measures suited to the task.
How long we keep it
Browsing data, only as long as security needs it. Emails, until your query is dealt with. Business accounts, while they stay open. Billing records, for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Write to info@estateroo.com and tell us what you need, and we will reply within a reasonable time. If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first. If our answer does not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Children
The site is meant for adults and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information, we will say so on this page.
